Finally a positive video about California I’m so sick of hearing people and watching videos on people just completely talking bad about the city. People just focus on the negatives about the city as if every city doesn’t have flaws. It’s been a dream of mine to live in California since I was a kid. Visited twice in my teen years and loved every second of it. Can’t wait to move there

And I wanted to thank you so much Tyra for your part of this video regarding deaf or hard of hearing customers. My mother in law and father in law are deaf. They as well as the deaf community just appreciate any communication ☺️ I do know asl-not great but enough and it’s really helpful. A deaf girl works at my local Target and we always wave to each other and if I forget the sign of something, I just ask her. No one needs be scared or uncomfortable-like you said - they just can’t hear 👍👍🤟🏻🤟🏻

I just had such an entitled horrible woman with a shipt order last Monday. 2 of her items were out of stock, one being a children’s sweatshirt. I sent her a nice message- I looked for options and sent her edited beautiful photos of what is available in case she would like a replacement. Her response was “ this isn’t helpful.” She also never replied to the intro message from me and she also said “ can you go to another Target and find my items without me being charged?” I knew this was going to be a major issue and my 5 star rating was going to be ruined. I called Shipt to have me removed. They called the customer and she claimed she didn’t know a person was shopping her order. 🤥 She then demanded a phone number to call and complain about me (because I was doing all I could for her 🙄) and the only reason I know that is because the Shipt support person texted me the info by mistake. I delivered and she’s waiting at the door in her 1.5 million dollar home-was so nice to my face then 10 minutes after I delivered she left the horrible rating. I haven’t gone out to do a single Shipt order since (all week) and I just noticed Shipt has me back at 5 star with her rating removed (I didn’t ask for rating forgiveness. My integrity wouldn’t allow it)|

This is why I don’t go out at night anymore ! Especially in urban areas where homeless are around and lawlessness is the norm ! You were another lick to them ! God definitely had you that night ! I would have been so scarred and it would make me move out that city !

Safety in LA is key as well. So you’ll pay for it.

This was good! I wish I would have come across this video sooner. Ive been in California for 7 years now and its been really hard these past few years. Ive decided to move back home because of the lack of community that I tried to build. Im going to take these tips and try doing more things solo without feeling awkward🙂

Love your recommendations! As for the emotional support animals, there are responsible renters and those who manipulate the system. It seems like it is an unnecessary added expense, but when you constantly have to replace flooring and make repairs, owners end up passing the cost to other renters. One dog can easily cause $5k+ in expenses. As a landlord, this forces me to raise rent. Unfortunately, many people call their pet an emotional support animal and in the long run, it hurts future renters.

I started with IC. That being in&out of the grocery store on top of having to deliver got old fast...

About 15 years ago, I left Washington DC and moved out to LA. I left after five years. I could afford to live there, for me it was the a lack of a black cultural identity as you would find in places like the DMV, New York, and Chicago. If you are white or Hispanic, you feel right at home in LA. Not so much if you’re black.

There's so much beauty and excitement to explore, both free and paid! Personally, I love spending my weekends indulging in various activities like shopping, discovering new spots, and treating myself to spa therapy for relaxation. Recently, I stumbled upon floating spa therapy, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! After some research, I found Quantum Clinic, and it's simply incredible. You should definitely add it to your list, and trust me, a visit is a must!

My experience with Shipt is very very new, as I started and done my first two shopping trips today. I started Instacart the first of the year. Shopping is my side gig and not my job. I am a bus monitor for special needs students, and that is by a landslide the most rewarding job I never knew existed until I got the job. Shop the stores that I can literally see from my driveway. Thank you for the hard hitting questions to ask myself if I ever for any reason get to the point where I need to stop.

Today I did my first two Shipt orders ever. However I've been shopping with Instacart for about 4 months now. What you said you do with the Ralphs store and your rewards card there is what I do to my favorite shopping store here, and you are right about the gas. I am also glad to know that I am not the only one who does that. Thanks for your tip, I think it was another video you did about the cart, that will come in handy.

I lived in the Highland Park ares of NE Los Angeles from 1976 to 2016. A beautiful , hilly walk-able neighborhood near Downtown, Pasadena Glendale and Eaglerock. When i first moved in it was a gang infested neighborhood. I bought me 1st house there for $178k in 1998 and slowly the place improved from hearing gunshots almost every night to seeing people taking walks every night. The same people who bought up blighted property and gentrified EchoPark and Silverlake did the same to Highland Park and now you could not buy a home for less than 900K and up and the rents of course reflect that. So the homeless problem arrived with a vengence and you see that all along the river and the parks. juxtaposition that among the million dollar homes and that is Highland Park today. I sold and moved to Albuquerque New Mexico and even though there is crime and homelessness here as well it is not even close to the level in Los Angeles. Driving around here is like this. If you have to go some where that is 20 minutes away you leave 20 minutes before. Rents , home price and insurance way cheaper. Entertainment , food and other amenity's are the same as in any big city, you will lack nothing. Not crowded at all. Its not for everybody but I am glad I left LA.

They do that because shipt app add on a price for them. So you add that up with a tip is hard on the Customer which most likely a customer will not give me tip because of the add on prices through the app instead of going to the actual store

I've been doing shipt for about 4 months now. Tips are very random. I have received anywhere from $25 tips to $0. The best are the promos. I managed to grab a $20 promo the other day. The person didn't tip but I wasn't that upset since the order paid $20. The order before that one gave me a $25 tip so I ended up making a little over $60 in 3 hours which was good enough for me. I'm looking to make $250-$300 per month. I've been working a retail job for about 3 years now on weekends. With shipt, I can take home same pay in 3 to 4 hours as I make on my two 8 hour shifts on the weekend at a retailer where I'm breaking my back doing stock and I have absolutely no fun or relaxation on the weekends whatsoever.
